Whilst here at The Good Kennel Guide we are quite happy to be with our dogs 24/7 it is not always practical. So on those occassions when pooch has to be left alone it is sometimes nice to have the option of leaving them outdoors, in a safe comfortable environment, rather than shutting them indoors. Are outdoor kennels good for dogs?

Outdoor kennels are a great option if you plan on leaving your dog unsupervised for a short while. While they're not meant to house your dog for long periods of time, they are a perfect option to keep your dog comfortable for a few hours each day.

Is it ok to leave my dog outside while I'm out?

Most dogs will enjoy short periods of outdoor time rather than be kept indoors alone, however shelter should always be provided. It might be nice when you leave but who knows what could happen with our good old British weather before you return. A kennel is a great alternative for times when you cannot be there, but always make sure that fresh water is also available.
